The real issue here is time and the price of that time. How much time does it take to research the updates to find out which are critical or not? How much time does it take to research possible outcomes of doing those updates? A blanket statement of update OS always and then update whats not working correctly would streamline the process, cost to you and the customer less, as well as addressing the largest percentage of issues.

At Gateway Country (WHO?) yeah lol… WE set the computer back to the Factory Settings when it had to be WIPED (saving all pictures and videos when possible) and the software was on disks. It was easily reinstalled. I don’t know 🤷🏾♀️ what they DO now because software is sold separately… oh WOW! I’m 49 now and out of the game. 🙏🏽🌞☀️GOD BLESS US🇺🇸!

Not Every Update Deserves Your Attention! You’re not just fixing computers; you’re fixing trust. When deciding on software updates, think like a strategist, not a technician. Start with safety: Patch vulnerabilities before they become chaos. Aim for performance: Ignore fancy updates; choose those that make machines fly. Listen to needs: Their workflow is unique, so should your solutions. Every choice should scream: "I understand you." Because success isn’t in the updates, it’s in the trust you leave behind.

I have a scripted tool that automatically updates all of what I consider essential: security updates, performance, compatibility, and browser updates. Beyond that, on the intake form I used the client has to indicate whether or not they want the rest of their software updated too, and there's a separate tool that catches about 90% of the apps that a client may have.
