First of all, it's important to realise that no matter what you do, there won't be a 'perfect' decision that will make all team members happy. It is important to maintain a balance between making everyone feel heard and letting the room know that you're the one who is absolutely in charge. That being said, a simple "I would like everyone's input on this" at a team meeting should produce a slew of ideas, some of which you should absolutely write down to show your team that you are taking them seriously. Discuss, argue and evolve the plan as per how the meeting goes. When your team realizes that you are rewarding them based on their ideas and not trying to make everyone happy, they will truly feel heard and respect you for that.

You cannot always make everyone happy- heavy is the head that wears the crown. However you can make everyone feel important. Something that I have always realised helps is opening the floor to allow everyone to give their inputs. Once you have everyone's perspectives and ideas, as the decision maker- it's your job to ensure that the most feasible, logical and apt route is paved. I've often realised that people value being given the opportunity to put across their perspective vs their perspective being the one that gets chosen to be the final decision. This is provided that as a leader, you choose the most logical and unbiased approach that can be widely accepted as something that makes sense.

As a Team lead , the biggest leverage I have is to get multiple perspectives of different people for the same topic. It is sometimes obvious that not everyone is so outspoken. Hence GDs might not be the best. I will interact with them on tea breaks, game breaks & other short breaks. After getting everyone's perspective I will jot down the points. Make a PPT & conduct a team meeting. Based on the conclusion, I will focus on the direction of the project.
