Respecting the requirement over the plan is normal in the product development lifecycle. When the team has such an opportunity, I would like to let them know the priority and explain why the requirement replaces the planned development. Generally, the product development team knows the importance of respecting the requirement/bug solution. Still, where required, the Product Manager's role is to make the team satisfactory and knowledgeable. I choose to have a buffer task space in the sprint where we can respect the priority requirement and, if not, take the prioritised tasks from the backlogs.
