Mobile first is a falacy (sorry). The user experience needs to be holistic. Sure you can focus on mobile design but ultimately your interface needs to accommodate desktop users as well. Both sides of the equation need to be considered in parallel. Great topic and food for thought!

I would say that understanding what is important to users as they interact with your brand via a mobile environment (and prioritizing that) is most important. Human behavior is more important than viewports, breakpoints, screen size etc.

Nobody cares about mobile first. People think on job-to-be-done. Whatever is the way you are thinking on a product, you need to think on an experience. Experience is made of all contact points between you (the user) and the product that supposedly solves the problem. AI offer us a plethora of capabilities that can simplify part of the journey, even eliminating part of the journey. So, keep an eye on the magic moments that you can provide to the users in the job-to-be-done journey.
