We are often faced with these new challenges in our environment. In order, for any project, to start well, it is paramount to share the context to the team, share objectives, and identify strengths of each one, that will enable them to pursue the project in an effective manner. Also, ensuring roles and responsibilities, through a RACI chart, enables everyone to be on the same page. Frequent meetings to review progress, and to assess potential roadblocks and challenges, or best practices, will enable you, as a project manager, to ensure your team is aligned, and keeps being engaged, to deliver a successful result.

One thing that is just as important is having a clear picture of the goals and how each team members roles and tasks support the others. This way members are not necessarily just working to complete an assignment but understand how they’re helping each other achieve the final result. Also asking for input is crucial. Team members can help identify possible challenges that might arise that you’re not aware of or find more efficient ways to achieve the final result; while also feeling more valued as part of the team.

A picture paints a thousand words. The answer is really simple and straightforward. Put a clear RACI together; engage with individuals on their responsibilities, deliverables and expectations, and then sigh-off at one of your project meetings. Do not re-invent the wheel, use the PM tools you have. Going through objectives is great, but does not address the obvious 'what am I doing here'.
