The concept of accurate time tracking in a multi-project environment has its origin in the traditional cost accounting practices. I don't find it very relevant, honestly. In my opinion, there are much better things to track for a senior resource who manages multiple projects for his/her clients. For example, the completion rate of CC with respect to consumption of the buffer - for each project - is a primary measure for me.

Frankly , only my brain itself. When I feel overwhelmed I on the contrary stop doing anything for a while and do sports and meditation. So for a day or two I deliberately completely don't do anything: except shopping, going to cozy coffee shops, doing sports especially including strength training, the meditations like sadhguru’s isha cria. I also listen to brainwaves for hours and walk. Usually after such “break” that my brain finds the most effective ways to solve tasks and I complete them earlier rather than if I didn't take that break.

Jira makes it easy with scrum to track and plan multiple projects . It creates nice grantt charts . Helps to quickly design , launch , customize and manage multiple projects

I come from an entirely different generation when we had more manual tracking than digital. We were quite efficient then and so are now as well . I personally believe that getting information is one thing but effective measures taken for it's implemetation is another and it is very important that one has regular reviews with the team members and your MIS has to be accurate. I have been managing multiple companies within our Group as it's CMD and haven't missed too many deadlines/targets in past 50 years .

Actually the key to multiple client based project or even if the same client has multiple project planning makes a keystone in tracking the progress and planning the project. One way of doing things is to use a mind mapping to break down all the activities needed and their correlation to each other them moving to a time line based on excel or Microsoft project Mangment or any similar program plan ahead and make your tracking system for the team and external parties with a periodical scrim meeting ( daily,weekly, bi weekly ..etc) this way you make sure that you’re on top of your responsibilities and it easy to track your changes and plan accordingly
