Set milestones. They do not have to be huge items. It can be as simple as “Finished x set of drawings for bid package. Moving on to y.” Then “Finished y set of drawings, moving on to z.” Having these not only helps you as a designer or drafter stay on target, it can also help your client know where you are. If you do this with each active project and track due dates, one can inform clients as milestones are met and remind them the due date for the next.

It's a simple, clear process that I like to follow: There have to be regular updates, these reports provide a snapshot of progress—achievements, adjustments, and upcoming milestones. A game changer is "milestone walkthroughs", walking clients through designs visually, using CAD renderings to bring the project to life. Gather feedback at every step. Client input at each milestone helps ensure alignment with their vision, fostering a seamless design journey.

Every project is different but.. 1. Have a progress log I.e gantt chart that is accessible to both you and your client. This helps with accountability and time management 2. Set attainable/ realistic goals and always include hours for adjustment. 3. Be transparent. Like any project there will be hurdles that will consume your time, So always pivot and be transparent as you do so.

If you are good with project management and have database automation, you can automate the entire process of completing an important milestone. Having a database for automating your project management could allow you to juggle multiple clients, have them stay on schedule, and keep them immediately notified about the status of your project with a simple email outlining your typical response time with an automated response email, in case you cannot respond that email yourself because you are helping another client or customer.

If a report with the title "progress of stage n of the project" is considered part of the project tasks in that project, and at the end of each stage it is automatically sent to customers and stakeholders, I think the problem is solved.
