Something I often emphasis is how a personal touch can make a huge difference. Small efforts to make each customer feel appreciated leave a lasting impact and build loyalty.

It’s all about relationships. People buy from people and people buy from people they like especially in small businesses. It’s finding the right people to help you and cultivating those relationships. Give more than you receive.

"Standing out in a crowded market requires a unique approach." Highlight Unique Value: I draw special attention to what sets us apart-be it product quality, customized service, or local expertise. Engage Locally: Community event sponsorships and partnerships with local businesses have built trust and visibility in our area. Targeted Promotion: Using limited-time discounts or special offers brings new customers in the door to experience your value for themselves. Customer Reviews to Leverage: Positive reviews given by your satisfied customers bring more credibility and attract other people. These strategies have worked in drawing more customers to our facility because they draw attention to what sets us apart.

My two cents - building trust with the customer and increasing your knowledge base! As a small business, it is also about going the extra mile to add value to the relationship, even if you are struggling through busy periods. Always reward loyalty not financially but by investing time.

Winning over clients in a competitive market starts with showing value from the first interaction. Here’s what’s worked for us: 🔹 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Highlight case studies or testimonials that show the real impact of your services. It gives potential clients a clear picture of the results you deliver. 🔹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: Offer free resources, consultations, or webinars. This allows prospects to experience your expertise with no commitment. 🔹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆: Collaborate with complementary businesses to reach new audiences and build credibility through local connections. Showing genuine value from the start sets the foundation for strong, long-term partnerships.

I've found that when I use social media more often, my business gets noticed. My followers don't necessarily engage with my posts, but when I see someone in person they will let me know that they are paying attention to my posts. So yes, its extra work to post consistently and frequently, but it can be a cost effective way to cut through the clutter.

We’re in the F&B space so it’s always challenging. But we believe in a strong corporate culture of teamwork, innovation, trust and respect infused with joy because we want us to collectively do better and be happy in our jobs. In F&B, we sell a promise of joy, and so we find ways to delight the customer. It’s a mindset change, but if we don’t adopt this positive mindset, then F&B will remain just the low pay and long hours. The world doesn’t need only the lawyers, doctors, engineers and white collar workers. F&B workers provide a value that is so fundamental. But we always as ourselves, what value can we give on top of something mundane and taken for granted? We do it with heart.
