In the case of time sensitive client request, I will review the present status of assignment. Then will call a kick of meeting , clearly communicate the urgency, will ask the suggestions from the team how to set the priority and considering the deadline, will align the team and task . The time sensitive client request is the the case of rare probability in routine delivery schedule. So considering the urgency will motivate the team to put little extra efforts to get it done in time with positive approach and determined teamwork.

The first thing to happen in such a scenario is to ensure clear communication to all stakeholders; this obviously require a "Launch" of the new assignment. Which should highlight the sensitivity and the opportunity for the organization. The effectiveness of the communication depends on the Leadership team and the moulding and work environment of the organization. In an environment where the employee know "What she/he is doing", the effectiveness of communication will be much better than an organization where only "Task" is known to employees. Identifying the bottlenecks expected and reducing impact through selecting the right tool to track the project and regular update will help employees to "Grasp the urgency".

In most organisations, especially the ones working in a hybrid mode, there are systems of communication within the team and for coordination/ prioritisation of tasks. This seems to be some change on customer side to ask for an early delivery date. Best is to have clear and transparent communication, update the new requirements on the system and follow up with a message or a meeting. It’s also important to study and identify if any other project will get delayed because of this and keep that client informed.

The people who actually do the job know best and as a leader it's critical to respect and empower each team member.
