Begin with the Question: Frame the presentation around a question the stakeholders care about (e.g., "How can we increase revenue this quarter?"). Introduce Metrics as Characters: Treat key metrics like "characters" in the story, each playing a role in answering the main question. Build a Cause-and-Effect Plotline: Show how changes in one metric (e.g., customer acquisition cost) lead to outcomes in another (e.g., profit margins). Use Progression, Not Overwhelm: Reveal data step by step, layering complexity only as the audience is ready for it. End with the Resolution: Conclude with actionable insights or decisions that can be made based on the story.

To make complex BI metrics understandable to non-technical stakeholders, I focus on storytelling with data, using relatable examples to illustrate insights. Simplifying visualizations with clear charts and concise labels ensures clarity, while avoiding jargon makes the information accessible. I connect metrics to business goals, emphasizing their practical impact, and encourage questions to foster engagement and understanding.

Simplifying complex data starts with understanding your audience's needs. Use visuals like clear graphs and dashboards to tell a story, focusing on trends and outcomes. Relate the data to real-world impacts, like increased sales or cost savings, to make it meaningful for everyone.

Simplify complex BI concepts for stakeholders by using clear language, clear visuals, and connecting insights to real-world business impact. For example: instead of saying, “Sales increased by 15% in Q3 due to optimized inventory management,” say, “By ensuring the right products were always in stock, we generated an additional $50,000 in sales this quarter.”

I would prepare some test cases and make a simplified document which will consists of sample examples for each of the complex BI metric. I'd add explanation in Layman terms so that the business understands the significance of each metric.

Transforming complex BI metrics into accessible insights starts with connecting them to the business context. Use simple analogies and clear visuals to tell a story that resonates with stakeholders. Every dashboard and report should answer real questions and show how the data impacts business decisions and goals. 🚀

Goal of BI is to give insights. Otherwise there is no point to intelligence. Graphics should be in a way that clear indicate metrics but most importantly immediate actions can be taken upon review of the metrics.
