I stay calm by breaking down the problem into smaller steps and focusing on one thing at a time. I remind myself to breathe, keep a clear mind, and prioritize finding a solution over stressing about the issue.

Build your technical skill and keep focus on your work. Build your continue learning skill. Building a support network. Maintain a positive attitude.

I stay calm by firstly contextualising the situation. I do IT support, not brain surgery. Then I work out the steps required to get the issue resolved in the most efficient way. What parts need to be escalated, what parts can I affect, is there a trumpet workaround etc. Then once I have a plan, inform the client of the steps that are being taken, and then let them know when they'll next receive an update.

Remember - the workplace is not the same as university. It shouldn't be "every dog for himself". Build a collaborative environment. There will be things that you may not be able to solve, but will be easy once you have the ability to tap others.

There are many tactics to keep cool and stay focused when faced with a critical technical issue. Here's what I do: - Know that you will get through this. - Chat and collaborate with peers. - ASK FOR HELP (a good coworker and/ or manager will never judge you). - Step away from the issue and breathe (if you can/ if you can't, then take some deep breaths). - Break down the issue and put out the small fires first. - Stay positive and feel accomplished (critical issues help excel your critical thinking abilities and technical skills!)
