Throughout my life, I have never procrastinated or never done anything wasteful. I even watched only good movies, which also will fall in my planned activity. My habits and daily discipline ensured automatically that what I am doing everyday is what really matters for that day .

I always think about ‘output’. What output, I expect after each activity both in my work and in my personal life. Output sometimes can be measured by financials, sometimes by senses. As long as its matching with expected output, both is perfectly fine. And key for success here is to have a clear picture of the ‘expectations ‘

One suggestion is to carefully sort the tasks to ensure that you are focused on the ones that support your companies strategic initiatives, your goals associated with those initiatives, and most importantly the tasks that support your team to achieve your goals!

It is always the case of instant gratification ruling over the hard , long term grind. Junk work gives the satisfaction of instant dopamine release by ticking the To-Do List and earns the bragging rights to one slide of PowerPoint on accomplishments but the things that are harder and require discipline and effort get pushed under the carpet. The easy solution is to go for tasks that you resist or put away or groan about - go for them in a focussed manner.

To prioritize essential tasks over the daily grind, I set 2–3 weekly “anchor goals” tied to strategic objectives, ensuring a focus on long-term impact. Leveraging automation tools minimizes low-value tasks, while applying the 80/20 principle helps direct energy toward actions that yield high returns. Empowering my team through delegation also allows me to concentrate on strategic decisions. Lastly, I perform regular “pulse checks” to keep priorities aligned and stay adaptable. Shifting focus from “urgent” to “essential” is key to operational success and sustainable growth.

I believe that teamwork is the most effective way to accomplish tasks efficiently. By prioritizing and delegating responsibilities according to individual strengths, sharing your insights, and setting clear expectations and timelines, you can create a productive environment. It's essential to monitor progress and provide support to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. This approach not only enables you to concentrate on what truly matters but also fosters the development of your team, preparing them for future challenges.

Sort them in a good order. From the importance and deadlines. See whether you can delegate this to your team member opr ask for others to support.

As someone in digital product management above mid-senior level, I start every morning by listing my top priorities, but I also keep a flexible mindset. First, I identify three critical task that, if completed by evening, will give me a sense of accomplishment. Then, I apply a filter: I choose three tasks to manage the management and another three that will help my team progress. This way, I’m tackling both top-down and bottom-up needs, ensuring I address strategic and immediate operational demands. Lastly, I recognize that not everything I do will be groundbreaking. Balancing between high-impact tasks and these necessary actions ensures steady progress without burnout. Everything else beyond this is bonus, adding value wherever possible
