I have integrated my Schlage smart locks with Hostaway via Remotelock. When new reservations are made, the system automatically assigns a 4-digit code and emails it to the guests on the day of their planned check-in. I include detailed instructions in the check-in emails to prevent user error and frustration. I can also control early check-ins, handle lockouts, see when guests enter and leave, and know when batteries are low from the Schlage app. I highly recommend this or a similar integration! One tip I'll mention is that if WiFi is down, or if the locks are not working for whatever reason, I keep a manual keybox on my properties that I can give guests access to in emergencies. The backup plan is critical!

Smart devices are everywhere. I’ve installed a bunch of sensores and actuators, so I can control all energy consumption, lighting comfort, privacy and security. After working on a merging system for all devices installed (BTicino/Sonoff) it is possible to control blinds with dawn or dust, ambient lightning after dust, enable some systems like air conditioning only if the solar panels are producing energy, detect if some movement in the entrance is from an animal or a human and switch on the lights, detecting if the doors or windows are closed after specific hours or if there is no one at the place… etc, etc… However, main goal here is to decrease your energy consumption and keep the comfort to your place, as keeping security.
