Aligning a cross functional team is sometime challenging due to knowledge gap of technology and business understanding. We must have a positive mindset of sharing knowledge and have a clear communication and understanding on objectives. As of my experience, Emotional intelligence training for everyone could improve the overall motivation process. By the same time , Learning and development should be the organisational priority for getting the best from the team members. Ego could kill a high performing team to succeed.

Leveraging collaborative tools like JIRA is a great start, but integrating these with agile practices—such as sprint reviews and retrospectives—can drive continuous alignment and improvement. Additionally, embedding IT representatives in cross-functional planning sessions ensures that technology priorities are always aligned with business goals.

Encourage cross-training to reduce silos and improve collaboration. Appoint a project manager to oversee initiatives, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment. Finally, conduct regular progress reviews to monitor achievements, adjust plans, and celebrate milestones. These steps foster teamwork and ensure effective goal alignment.

Collaboration is the key to achieving cross-functional goals. Start with a clear, unambiguous definition of the goals. Quantify them as much as possible. Define measurement target and method/criteria. For example, if this goal is an SLA, define SLOs for each sub-team to measure at the sub-task level. Define the interfaces well, so the tasks can span smoothly over multiple teams during the workflow/process. Ensure there is an adequate review mechanism with proper/timely "checks and corrections" to "close the loop". Communication is the key to making sure the teams understand their roles of play. Create the eco-system of tools, processes, SOPs, templates, etc. to make working through the goals consistent and predictable.
