Find something your team likes to do and turn it into a team builder. My team is into arts and crafts, so I bought some inexpensive wooden ornaments from the dollar store along with some paints, glitter, etc. At a team meeting, everyone took two ornaments and we spent time decorating them. They were then given the challenge to keep one for themselves but then give the second away in the week ahead to someone they wanted to thank or give kudos to. It was really fun and was different then a typical team builder. People had good casual conversation while doing the craft, they praised each other for their creativity, and then things went the extra mile with the added element of appreciation and recognition.

Communication is always key. There are many reasons team members may be less than enthusiastic about team building activities. Perhaps they've had negative or ineffective experiences previously. For some it may be more of an introvert or anxiety concern that activities such as team building can be triggering. TALK TO YOUR PEOPLE- express why you're wanting to do teambuilding and then ask for feedback so they can share any experiences they liked and would suggest or negative examples they advise to stay away from. Also share information with the team prior to the event that you can so team members can be prepared and not as anxious. Being empathetic and aware and keeping lines of communication open is key.

Team-building skepticism? Oh, we get it—our IT crew thought 'bonding' was just for circuit boards. But then came Gatlinburg TN in winter … Sure, the GPS led us to 'Nowhere, TN,' and someone tried to connect with Wi-Fi in the woods (spoiler—it doesn’t exist), but lots of laughs + memories later, we actually meshed better than our favorite code! Pro tip: fun > logistics every time. 🍁☃️❄️

Team-building activities can feel unnecessary at first, but they make a big difference when done right. Start with simple, goal-focused activities and involve the team in planning. Over time, they help improve communication, trust, and teamwork.

I think another key aspect here is highlighting why team building is needed in the first place, how stronger team connections help everyone succeed, and that by revisiting our shared, common goals, we can get realigned and reenergize for future projects.

One of the important aspects for a successful organisation is a good and well connected team.So organising activities, discussions as well as get aways are quite essential for the members to have communication and commitment towards achieving a desired goal. Activities to keep everyone up to date or team building activities are really a booster which refreshes the minds of the individuals and will help them return to work with more energy and clarity.

Team building often gets a bad rap, conjuring up images of awkward trust falls and forced "fun". But it doesn't have to be like that! I've found that the key is to think outside the box. One of our most successful team-building events involved renting an indoor playground (complete with ball pits and slides!) and arriving in a disco bus. Yes, you read that right. Why did it work? Because it was unexpected, fun, and allowed everyone to let loose and connect in a way that felt authentic. We laughed, we played, and we built stronger bonds as a team. So ditch the tired old formulas and get creative! Choose activities that align with your team's interests and inject a dose of fun. You might be surprised by the results.
