Per my experience, frustration arises when there is a helplessness so is the stress! When you are helpless the stress adds on and one day it bursts externally or internally! With that in mind, I would understand the individual Have one-one discussion with the individual, understands the root cause and help the individual with all the necessary resources And, since the project is tough i understand the level of commitment it would take to perform the best. So would celebrate each effort put by the individual and also encourage them to step up to take different but higher responsibility. Also, i would identify time off space for the team member and encourage the individual to take some time off to declutter and then come back stronger.

It's a matter of the heart. Team members who stagnate have lost the vision. I like to take them aside and remind them of how the project will impact another human being. Remind them of the dream and the role they play in making it a reality. I also like to tell the story of the woodcutter who had a quota of 10 trees a day. First day he cut 10. Second day he cut 5. Third day he barely got 1 cut and was stressed out. An old woodcutter came and sat beside him and asked what was troubling him. He shared his story and the old woodcutter shared his wisdom when he asked, "Did you ever stop and sharpen your axe?" We must all take time to sharpen our axe, take a breath and renew our spirit in order to finish the really tough projects.

So, it is important to reignite his motivation. for this the priority is to be provided first to listen his words for losing his interest. Then it is important so search for the required solution. If the reason is he work pressure it is better to provide a break to him. If he had any issue with the skill the guidance is to be provided. And last but the most important thing is that we should provide him the support and confidence that we are there to help and care for him.

Be a hands on manger and if it's important to you it will be important to the team. Always be willing to jump in with assistance and support.

Speak to the concerned one to one and try to understand the reason for demotivation and give the utmost assurance that come what may, the support will always be there. If there is something to be done from the company side, resolve it and make him feel like an insider and not be an enemy. The power and output is 💯 when it's a strong team but if any team member feels left out, it will adversely affect the whole team's performance and end results.

Communication. Don't expect everyone is communicating within the team. Sit down with them and have periodic "coffee talk" sessions. Give them a chance to relax and open up the discussion channel.
