Communication is key to not only understand the diversity but also build the culture of appreciating the differences. Focus on celebrating the differences by organizing the sessions such as "Cultural Storytelling Hours," where team members sharing personal traditions or heritage, transforming diversity from an abstract idea into shared experiences.

I believe that fostering a genuinely inclusive environment is best achieved by encouraging authentic relationships among team members rather than forcing the issue. By promoting these real connections, which will naturally enhance our team's inclusivity and respect for diversity.

My comprehensive plan of action would include 1.Diversity and inclusion training - I would organize workshops, webinars, staff engagements that focus on Diversity, inclusion and cultural sensitivity. 2.invite guest speakers from diffrent cultural backgrounds to highlight different cultural backgrounds, traditions and value. 3.unconcious bias training is important to assist the team to recognize and overcome unconscious biases. 4.allow team strategy session and a week away from office to reflect on themselves and provide feedback. 5,create a feedback mechanism by creating a safe and confidential way for team members to share their concerns and suggestions. 6.Do one on one sessions- encourage open conversations. 7.Do Check-ins regularly

Encourage conversations around it. It needs to be two ways. If people don’t talk, others can’t learn. Have team members share about the local celebrations and how they celebrated those events at the beginning of every team call. Create a platform where team members can share photos and videos of events that matters to them.

One thing I have found helpful is to ensure a safe space for diversity to exist. If the space safe, it can enrich or enhance work opportunities and relationships. If the space is not safe, it can deplete or limit those opportunities and relationships. Recognising that strength can come from different experiences, values and practices encourages Teams to work from their individual value points. Your role as a Manager or Leader is to align those strengths and perspectives of the Team, acknowledge and respect its diversity and support them work to a common direction and focus. That is the bigger challenge!

Bring everyone on the same page by making them to understand that everyone is uniquely endowed. So if you don't appreciate and accept everyone's gifts, abilities, and endowment, you will miss the growth, opportunities, and success from that individual. Make everyone's voice to be heard and count. Teach your team to respect everyone's opinion irrespective of the perceived objections.

Team rotation - nothing better than walking some miles in other shows. We use to do that a lot, to plan visitations in different teams to really help each other in Silos. The visiting part took the role of the apprentice and really had to help with a hands on mentality. Not only did they understand the full scope of certain processes, but also got to know each other on a personal level: how do you work? What is important to you in collaboration?

All leaders agree that fostering inclusivity requires assessing challenges, educating teams, and implementing systemic changes. Key to this is psychological safety, where individuals can express themselves without fear, enabling dialogue, innovation, and belonging. However, one often overlooked aspect of inclusivity is the importance of addressing intersectionality, meaning the interconnected nature of individual identities shaped by race, gender, religion, disability, and socioeconomic background. Focusing solely on broad categories like gender or ethnicity risks neglecting the unique experiences of those at the intersections of these identities, potentially leaving gaps in inclusion efforts.
