First, I create a space for everyone to share their viewpoints without interruption, making sure each member feels heard and valued. I then guide the conversation toward shared goals and remind the team of the project's overall purpose, which often helps us align on the bigger picture. By breaking down each solution's pros and cons together, we can see which options best serve our objectives. If necessary, I propose a trial period to test ideas, which helps build consensus through practical results.

The key thing I've taken away from this process is to ensure everyone on the team knows we are all trying to provide different insights and no one is right or wrong. I know that a great approach is that when the team is presenting their solutions, they must present their solutions without showing bias, only the facts. A simple spreadsheet listing the objectives and checking a box if a technical solution meets that objective or not takes a lot of tension out of the equation.

Have open respectful dialogue, with a strong leader capable of directing the team. Having a leader that is capable of leading the team with the intended goal with a strong plan, even when members of the team may have disagreements. At the end of the day it’s on the leader of the team. A good leader is capable of getting their team together and execute the plan after hearing suggestions from their team, in the way they see best benefits the organization.

First of all, I will calm the situation, make everyone understand how useful their opinion is. I will also let them know that the tension being experienced is because of their passion and committment towards achieving greater heights. Then we proceed on creating a dialogue where every voice is appreciated and have a collaborative problem-solving method, showing empathy and then celebrating small wins together.
