I create a safe space for open communication, encouraging team members to voice concerns without fear of judgment. I actively listen to all perspectives to identify the root causes of the conflict. I mediate the situation by fostering understanding and mutual respect, ensuring everyone feels heard. If necessary, I establish clear guidelines for collaboration and conflict resolution. I also revisit team goals and shared values to refocus the team on our common purpose. Finally, I encourage regular check-ins and team-building activities to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships, helping restore harmony and productivity.

While I acknowledge there are many jobs suited for remote work, I am not a fan of a totally remote workforce. No one can convince me that in general, the masses are capable of avoiding daily distractions while working at home. Isolation from other team members places a restriction on collaboration and creativity. Conflicts easily arise from reliance on text messaging, emails and Teams chats as messages are too often taken out of context. The best way to restore harmony is to mandate regular opportunities to gather your team and preferably at least in my opinion to transition back to a collaborative environment at least 60% of the time for key personnel.
