For when engineering resources are scarce, strategic prioritization is really critical. Instead, we map projects vs our company’s strategic objectives and assess how much impact and alignment it has to long term goals. The vital piece is finding where to spend our limited engineering bandwidth to get the most from it and achieve real business value. However, there are times when I believe a focused, efficient project is worth more than a complicated, resource consuming one. It’s not only what you can do, but what you should do to drive real organizational progress.
