I am fully committed to what I do and always give my best. While this has always been true, it’s something I wasn’t confident enough to express publicly 10+ years ago. I build trust and accountability with the people I work with, and I approach my role as a parent the same way. If a personal emergency arises, it’s simply a part of life. Most importantly, I avoid what I call the “terrible three.” If three challenges overlap—like being tired, busy, and dealing with an emergency—it significantly increases the risk of mistakes. So, when I’m feeling stretched, I plan even more carefully to ensure a third difficulty doesn’t creep into my schedule. It’s about balancing preparedness, trust, and prioritisation.

Effectively manage disruptions by prioritizing urgent commitments and rescheduling non-critical sessions with clear communication. Leverage digital tools for flexibility, such as virtual meetings or asynchronous support. Delegate administrative tasks and ensure self-care to maintain focus and deliver quality coaching.

Actually I disagree in telling clients implicitly the reasons in detail. You should just state uncontrollable circumstances. Clients are not interested in ones sob stories. Maintain professional boundaries and be clear with rescheduling and ensure commitments are reasonable. Try to have plan B, in case a longer period is necessary, such as bringing in a temporary replacement. Give choices such as discounts or a free session for other soft skills, as a compensation.

As a business and marketing coach who is also a toddler mom, this has happened, and the community that we have created is a safe space for all women, be it our clients or us, at the end of the day, we're all just human, and there are situations out of our control, so we do make sure one of the partners in the business is always there, or we inform them, and honestly share the situation, and reschedule the call. In the meantime we do review work, and help them answer any doubts so at no point do they feel lost or abandoned, there's a constant momentum.

When life disrupts my coaching schedule, I don't panic. I prioritize the most urgent things, like making sure my clients are taken care of. I reach out to them immediately, explain the situation, and offer solution I delegate tasks that can wait and keep the focus on what really matters. Life happens—what matters is how you handle it.

When unexpected events arise, I manage my schedule by staying flexible and transparent. I communicate promptly with clients, offering alternative session times or formats, such as asynchronous feedback via email or recorded video. Prioritising critical tasks ensures high-impact activities remain on track. I also lean on digital tools to streamline rescheduling and maintain continuity. By setting clear boundaries and focusing on solutions, I balance personal challenges while upholding my commitment to clients.
