If I was on the phone I would ask the patient to hold. Attend to the patient in the office regarding an emergency. Apologize to the patients in the waiting room and bring the patient to a room and get the CC and let the provider know what’s going on. I would finish up my calls and attend to our patients that are waiting. Try to help out so the provider with my knowledge on what he or she needs so provider won’t get behind with the patient flow.
