These gaps often occur when there are no proper R&D missions set which would streamline the development work and its thinking process. For example: A mission to standardize the parts across the product platforms would restrict a designer and also an engineer to only think of the options which would satisfy this requirement and hence everyone cross-functionally would align their thinking process accordingly and close this gap. Also, I usually ask designers to meet with cross-functional experts well before they are into concept selection stage. Incentivar cada equipe a aprender sobre os fluxos de trabalho, desafios e restrições do outro cria um senso de respeito e compreensão mútuos. Purpose in terms of what are customer expectations, what are our capabilities, what are timelines, business criticality, profit margin targets, technology to promote. If this holistic understanding and alignment exists between a design team and the engineering team, there will be lesser iterations tussle in getting the intended result. . . Objective alignment will also help reduce leadtime for work completion [lesser iterations] and also improve efficiency, helping teams do more business.
