This is a brilliant submission, however I opine that it's never a one size fits all approach, it could more often than not be a blend of two different approaches outlined here. Every learner's case is peculiar. Understanding the student's strengths and weaknesses would help to formulate an individualistic approach to handling such student and getting the best possible result from them.

As a senior university lecturer, for a student who needs an extra attention, I will give him/her more time, follow up and support to make him successful.

Understanding the needs of the learners is the first step in giving the student the appropriate help. If one student needs extra attention in my class due to academic issues or him or her being a slow learner, my approach would be different, such as remedial class, assistance after classes, extra reading or video resources. But if the student is having some emotional issue such as death of loved one or medical problems faced by that student, my approach would be different. In any case mentoring and Counseling play an important role.

As an IELTS instructor, I have encountered similar situations in the past. In addition to giving the student more individual attention, I intentionally group the class by pairing brighter students with average learners. I then assign them tasks to work on together. This helps the student learn not just from the teacher but also from peers.

An example I've seen is that students who are slow learners can be encouraged by giving them small rewards on any kind of success they achieve, however insignificant it is. This helps them to stay motivated and give the little extra effort they need to give .

In community college, it is important to connect students to resources and teach them to form study groups. During my office hours, I am happy to answer questions, explain concepts, and give study tips. However, I think helping the students learn how to be more self-sufficient serves them better in the long run.

As a kindergarten teacher of 17 students, if one student get more attention, the other students will be jealous. As a single warior in the class, my first step is to communicate with his parents about his condition and treatments he get from home. In several cases, I will suggests the parents to bring their children to find experts. By digging information and observing his behavior, I will discuss about his condition to my supervisor, then I will set different standards and goals for him and try to create a new strategy that can be accepted for the whole class.Treating him naturally with make his classmates think that he is normal.
