To fit it, in earlier days is quite normal. With right strategy and right working environment, it can be solved. Allowing the person to talk and share ideas and in response respecting and showing interest in their ideas is important. Not to let the new member feel left alone by assigning a sensible member as a mentor.

It's natural. Everyone is unique and may take time to adjust to new people, environments, and cultures. As a leader, it's crucial that you become the facilitator for gelling with the new member. 1- Introduction- Create opportunities for a formal and casual introduction with the Team. 2- Clarity- for Culture, values, Processes, best practices, do's, and don't. 3- Buddy- Create a support for the initial handholding. 4- Hear- listening to new team members, and knowing their ideas/feedback, makes them feel included and heard. 4- Appreciate- Initial appreciation and recognition help employees feel more valued, and secure. 5- Celebrate- celebrate occasions/successes with team, making them feel more united, and strengthening team spirit.

Struggles with team integration are inevitable, but they can be managed effectively. While gatherings, mentorship, and open communication are helpful, I’ve found sponsorship to be a game-changer. By identifying team members best suited to connect with new hires, sponsors take on the role of guiding integration and fostering engagement. This relieves pressure on the new member and creates a supportive, welcoming environment. Together, the sponsor and I also build excitement, ensuring the team is eager to welcome the new addition. Integration isn’t just smoother—it’s a shared success.
