How can servant leaders amplify underrepresented voices?
Servant leadership is a philosophy and practice that emphasizes the empowerment, development, and well-being of others. Servant leaders put the needs and interests of their followers before their own, and seek to serve them with humility, compassion, and integrity. One of the benefits of servant leadership is that it can foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging, where underrepresented voices are heard, respected, and valued. However, this is not an automatic or easy outcome. Servant leaders need to actively and intentionally amplify underrepresented voices, by creating space, listening deeply, providing feedback, supporting action, and celebrating success. In this article, we will explore how servant leaders can do this in five steps.
