In my view there are 2 routes, one is likely short term oriented than the other. Short term: showcase a new tool / perhaps a new way of interacting with an LLM that can help make processes a bit more efficient. It’s not new to the world but likely new to the company. It can help raise your profile but more as the finder of shiny new objects. And you have to keep doing this…else, it will look like a flash in the plan. Long term: understand the basics of the company, the demand and cost drivers, get subject matter expertise. then showcase how your quantitative expertise can complement your subject matter expertise. This is something that can help you become integral to the company and raise your profile as a critical thinker.
