Plan with the possibilities of delays, use simulation and thrust your simulation experts. And the moment, your gut tells you something is going wrong start communicating. When delays become reality look for help from your customers. And always try to keep the project running, by reaching milestones on time not early. Also accept loss and do not try to regain lost time. It does not work and consumes all your resources.

- For any Project, focus is always on Cost, Quality and delivery. -Supplier nomination is an important process where all suppliers capacity and capability are evaluated.Make or Buy to be agreed in advance with CFT -Part should be as per print is basic requirement however one important step is Drawing quality review where each and every dimension with tolerances needs to be agreed and supplier has a chance to raise his hand for any deviation. -From Engineering point of view through review is required to agree critical,major and minor dimensions and decision to relax dimensions without affecting fit ,form and function. -Further Purchasing,logistics and internal manufacturing should have alignment for availability of parts.

Most probably supplier is overcapacity or facing bottlenecks so if you trust the suppliers outsourcing channels I would advise them to use it quickly. Another way would be if I have inhouse capabilities to assist the supplier I would build an intercorporational team to manage shortterm bottlenecks together.
