The golden nugget of wisdom here? Craft a crystal-clear strategy (hard lessons learned). Most of the time, burnout isn't some mysterious beast; it's just you running around doing things that didn't even need to be on your to-do list in the first place. Pro tip: master the art of saying "No" like a boss. E.g., if you're running a community with no full-time staff, keep your eyes on the prize. Map out a yearly plan—say, 10 events max—and stick to it like glue. Gather your squad, dish out roles, and delegate like you’re Oprah handing out cars. And when someone comes knocking with a shiny new idea you don’t have the bandwidth for? Decline it gracefully, sprinkle in a touch of flexibility when needed, but don’t lose sight of that strategy :)

Focus on the tasks by prioritizing them, breaking the tasks up to more manageable tasks, and delegate. Setting boundaries and learning to say no is ok.

The key to business growth and success is having a growth mindset. Success and growth for any business is team work. Quote: Max Lucado: Team work makes the dream work Unquote. A successful business is comprised of many working parts (i.e. people) therefore, every person has a specific function and should receive delegated assignments without being micro- managed. Delegating assignments eases unwanted stress as well as free up time for management to focus on more important tasks and issues that ensure future prospects for continuing growth and success of the company.

Ensure that the right person is assigned to the right job. Assigning the right tasks to individuals who possess the necessary skills and expertise is essential for achieving optimal performance and efficiency. This approach not only ensures that the job is done correctly but also boosts team morale, as employees feel valued and capable in their roles. Misallocation of responsibilities, on the other hand, can lead to inefficiencies, frustration, and a decline in overall productivity

That is why it is important to train people to be able to share responsibilities. In my former organization, we used to call our team, the dream team, simply because each member is able to perform an aspect of the tasks. In this case, any of the team members can fill in the gap at anytime. Burnout is common, especially when the year is getting to the end, so it is important to keep the team spirit and share tasks. Also, assigning tasks is another way to avoid burnout, so that one person wouldn’t have to do all.
