During my time as assistant drilling supervisor, the basis was a strong alignment of all the key actors: - DWOP exercise: ahead of spudding the well, a session between subsurface team, drilling team, well hook up and operations to decrypt the well proposal and the drilling program. This can be done in a face to face session during the rig move or online. - Daily morning and evening meetings with the team in town to review progress versus the initial program. A standardise reporting template. - Real time monitoring of drilling progress on site and in town. - Adhoc meetings to discuss major variances from the initial program - A well written end of well report to capture the findings and recommendations for the rest of the campaign.

Overseeing remote drilling sites requires a blend of technology and communication. In my opinion, using real-time monitoring tools like SCADA provides immediate visibility of progress. But just as important are regular check-ins with site managers, allowing for open dialogue about challenges. I also believe in standardized reporting to ensure consistency across all sites. Example: If I were managing a remote site, I’d rely on real-time data for daily updates and hold weekly virtual meetings to review them. This combination helps me catch issues early and keep everything on track.

By utilizing a digital workflow orchestration platform like Horizon56 which lets you manage the entire well construction lifecycle from planning to execution to lessons learned. You should use templates for digital work instructions to reduce redundant work by the engineers and planners and avoid typos and other mistakes from copy & paste of older programs. The real-time center and office staff can follow the progress in real-time and immediately see any updates and additions or deviations to/from the original plan.

I like so much this type of question according my experience into of the Drilling and Workover area the overseeing on real-time of the Drilling Operations is timely for development and success of the all projects the software use is important for determining any possible problems the checking the procedures also is important and revision of all operations reports also is others tools effective for the suppervision on real-time of the opoerations

We at ADAGA provide this service. We providing real-time data transmission and using DDR platform for low frequency data and merging with high frequency data platform, we optimize the drilling and by using both of them we can monitor all NPT’s and ILT’s. That’s how we manage all drilling operations together and with the help of monitoring rooms we make it easier to show all aspects of operations in one place. With these data we optimize the drilling, more speed, less money to loos, and less CO2 emission for the environment. We have reached 26%improvment in construction time of wells and 10% less CO2 emission.

Having run two of the industries largest Real Time Data Centers, I have found that even the most sophisticated software is not adequate. Even relying on your M/LWD, Directional Drilling, or GeoSteering company is not adequate. Each are good for what specialty they are designed for but none of them are independent and cover the basics of drilling trouble avoidance, assist in optimization, or help the wellsite personnel watch the well when they are doing their dozens of other activities. It requires good monitoring software tied to a good EDR provider, a well defined and understood communications matrix and a group of well seasoned, experienced drilling people that understand the concept of situational awareness. Reach out if you need help.

Overseeing remote drilling sites requires meticulous planning, communication, and technology integration to ensure timely and accurate progress reporting. Here’s how to achieve this effectively: 1. Establish Clear Communication Protocols Regular Check-Ins: Define Reporting Structure: 2. Utilize Real-Time Monitoring Technology 3. Adopt Project Management Software Centralized Dashboards: Collaborative Platforms: 4. Implement Standardized Reporting Templates Consistent Format: Regular Updates: 5. Conduct Regular Reviews and Audits Audits and Inspections: 6. Encourage Feedback and Adaptation Open Feedback Loops: Adjust Processes as Needed: 7. Train Staff on Reporting Tools and Procedures Training Sessions: Simulations and Drills:

With real time tools the AI & ML introduction is a plus point in drilling operations for Safety & NPT prospective. Daily morning meetings are the best way to keep the eye on drilling operations with emergency meetings if needed. Documentations should be short and easy to understand in a technical way. Other than this the skilled employees and helpful management are base of success.

To establish an effective reporting system for remote drilling sites, key components should include real-time data collection, cloud-based data management, automated reporting tools, standardized reporting templates, and regular reporting schedules. This system will feature centralized dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring a consistent data flow. Emphasizing the importance of trained personnel, defined roles, and performance metrics will further enhance accountability and efficiency. By implementing this approach, remote drilling sites can achieve timely and accurate progress reporting, enabling informed decision-making and optimized operations.

Create or use reporting programs and or systems that have data accuracy and entry governance built in. This governance should be based upon requirements for the project and or data delivery chain. A system that can guarantee that a process cannot be completed until complete and accurate data is processed is a must have. This would include required fields, data quality and verification points and ensure that once entry has been obtained, the reports are distributed accordingly. Using low code platforms that are easy-to-use and have an excellent UI/UX are essential for companies to control workflows and governance. When properly configured, remote operations becomes significantly more efficient and effective.
