Communicating GIS findings to diverse stakeholders means keeping things simple and relevant. I create clear, intuitive visuals like straightforward maps and graphics to make complex data easy to understand. I adapt my explanations based on the audience's knowledge, balancing technical detail with accessibility. Most importantly, I connect the data to what matters most to them, ensuring the insights are practical and impactful.

Making GIS findings clear for different stakeholders can be tricky, but it’s all about communication. Use simple, visually engaging maps and graphics. Adjust your explanations based on what each person knows, keeping things relatable. Most importantly, divert your focus to what matters to them.

When tailoring GIS presentations, I prioritize storytelling. Instead of just presenting data, I frame it within a narrative that aligns with the audience’s interests—showing the “why” behind the findings. For example, I might illustrate how a flood risk map directly impacts community safety or budget planning. I also leverage interactive tools like live dashboards or overlays that let stakeholders explore data themselves, making the experience more engaging. Finally, I provide actionable insights, ensuring the audience leaves with clear next steps rather than just raw information.

Visualization, Visualization, Visualization. Most stakeholders who are the end consumers of GIS data aren't technical. They need to be presented with GREAT visualization that is simple, beautiful and easy to assess. I cannot under estimate how important it is to make easy to understand, most don't want to deal with anything too technical.
