I help co-direct a one-day basketball All-Star event and Community Fair that relies heavily on unpaid volunteers and as such, this definitely reduces costs significantly. Planning is essential to the process, without it something will fall short, ultimately taking away from the experience. Failure to plan effectively hinders the experience of all parties involved. Customers are important, and yet employees job satisfaction should always be a factor dwell. Dealing with a no win situation you've created can cause employees to think towards other opportunities. Structure your plan and think about all phases with you team in a working group prior, and gather as much information as you can to apply as needed.

1. Efficient Hiring - The hiring strategy has to be on-point, extremely important to on-board Multi-skilled professionals to manage similar or complementary tasks (eg. Sponsorship sales + servicing) 2. Barters - As event owners, it is almost mandatory to identify cost offset components , done through barter partnerships (Eg: Medical partnerships to offset ambulance and on-ground Paramedics costs), there are many such examples - Media Partners (to save promotion dollars etc) if done rights, offsets costs by 15% 3. Right leverage & Run a tight ship - Once the budget is decided with stretched limits accounted for, no unnecessary additional element gets added, any unaccounted one automatically gets covered within the stretched limits
