Outsourcing technology services is not a trivial matter. A very in-depth analysis of the implications for both the IT area and, more importantly, for the company's business must be carried out. A unique mechanism must be maintained in order to contract the services, which must first be carried out by the purchasing area. In other words, the process must be clearly described and communicated to all areas of the organization, in order to avoid contracts or services that could jeopardize all the organization's critical processes. There must be a governance model in all organizations that regulates and controls all outsourcing projects, with rules, procedures and processes that follow the best practices in the market.

Managing scope creep effectively requires a combination of proactive planning, clear communication, and disciplined processes. Defining a detailed project scope upfront, with explicit deliverables and objectives, is essential to establish a solid foundation. Implementing a robust change control process ensures that any deviations from the original scope require formal approval, providing transparency and accountability. Regular progress reviews, such as weekly check-ins, help maintain alignment with the agreed scope and allow for early identification of potential issues. By combining these strategies, I’ve successfully managed client expectations while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Great tips! Dealing with scope creep is one of the biggest challenges in IT. I always emphasize the importance of clear and continuous communication with the client. I've made mistakes in the past by not strictly following this, but we learn from our failures, right? Let's always strive for continuous improvement!
