My top tip: get there early. You'll beat the crowds and people on the stands will have more time for conversation (and you'll make a stronger impression with fewer people for them to compare you to). Arriving early also means you can speak to the organisers for introductions to the key people you want to meet, and scope out which organisations are attending so you can prioritise the ones you want to connect with.
