The truth is, people that don't understand VR can be GREAT testers. The truth is, most people don't understand VR so an inexperienced tester is going to act as most people would. This isn't to say have someone who is inexperienced handle your UX (for Heaven's sake, don't do that) but not everyone has to be a VR expert to give you feedback. It's really about meeting your teammates where they are and finding the value is every piece of their feedback on a project. It's not always easy to find, but this will produce better results than relying solely on people who understand the possibilities/limitations of XR in general. Hope this helps.
