By nature, a volunteer schedule should be built in with padding. Arriving late, early, and failing to show are all possibilities. Create a dynamic schedule that accommodates as many possible combinations as of requirements. In the sense of political canvassing, you will often have different volunteers than expected. Be able to scale up or down the workload to target crucial turfs and targets. Most importantly, managing volunteers often means taking on the work as one. Fill in any gaps as a leader. Make changes frictionless. The less volunteers are overwhelmed or confused, the better. Don't forget to mobilize and inspire to make a successful shift.

Present this idea & need to your volunteers at a luncheon you provide. Thank them all & asks if any specific volunteers might be available on short notice with a phone call. Make a list and post it-with phone list unattached but in your desk. Since this would create a unique situation only- there would be a voucher given for treats--what would be a good idea for that voucher -$20.00. Shall we try this and see if we get those difficult times covered with an another extra set of hands. Thanks all!

When faced with such, i would first assess the Changes. I would want to understand the scope and urgency of the changes and then identify which tasks or timelines are affected and what new needs have arisen. Secondly, i would prioritize task to determine which tasks are most critical and need immediate attention. Be transparent about the reason for the adjustment, what is expected, and how it will affect other schedules.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst! Last minute changes are inevitable sooner or later. When working with volunteers, a good course of action from the very beginning is to manage expectations. I tend not to post overly specific volunteer roles for events but rather a range of duties that may be required during a shift (while also accommodating special needs). This helps to recruit volunteers that are ready to do anything needed. I also create slight overlaps in schedules in case of lateness or if there are small tasks that may need many hands. If things go off track and adjustments need to be made, you'll have a team that's ready to jump in!

I typically try to first remember to stay calm myself, leading by example, if things need to adjust unexpectedly and we expect our team to respond with a ready, can do attitude, we need to first do so ourselves. That starts with bringing a level head to the conversation.

When I face last minute project change the first I accept the situation and tell myself that need to find alternatives in given situation. I communicate the issue with stakeholders and plan with them strategies and take their help in new project work. Need to see how much funds get affected and how we can cover time gap is also important. Manpower handling and training need to organise .

Volunteers are very helpful resource while handling any Project but it has its own shortfall, since at many occasions the volunteers do back out leaving the organisers to juggle around with alternate options. Keeping calm is the key, there is a need to discuss the issue with the remainder team at disposal and draw a plan to complete the project with a servant leader approach.

i haved faced such problems during my college , So one of the way i cope with them is making sure my chance to submit project comes as late as possible so that i get enough time to make changes in project and then understand it throughly and tada you can do it to just have to focus on the good alternative during time
