Absolutely yes. Mindfulness is a very helpful practice for stress relief. Indeed, it contributes to promoting relaxation, increasing self-awareness, improving mood and sleep quality as well as overall health, to name a few. 1. Mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing or guided meditation, can calm the mind, lower cortisol levels, and improve decision-making under pressure. 2. By focusing on the present moment, leaders can develop greater self-awareness, allowing them to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively in challenging situations. 3. Regular mindfulness exercises build mental resilience and sharpen focus, enabling leaders to navigate demanding circumstances with a clearer, more composed mindset.

Mindfulness is the key in this situation. I start this kind of meetings with some breathing exercises, with short meditation or just by giving space to calm down and collect ourselves.

Mindfulness is very misunderstood in business. It's when you stop multi-tasking, and running and focus on the one thing in front of you. Getting your breath, your pace, and your thoughts into line for an improved mental state. I find starting with a walking mindful practice - eyes wide-open - is a good way to start to understand how to see what's going on without reacting and being in that moment. Being mindful is about sitting in the middle of a "storm" and reacting purposefully. It is extremely powerful when leaders can get into this state.
