Personal Branding extends beyond materials. It is the persona. Whenever I do public speaking engagements and/or just in public, I am very gracious. I listen and repeat what people say to me in conversations, maintain eye contact. Label your slide deck/presentation with your company logo and/or name. I am interactive with my presentations, I invite people to share in workshops. I do my best to remember everyone's name and use them often during our engagements. I've found it helpful when creating content, to truly understand who your audience is and the purpose of the story. -I've incorporated historical figures from their geographical location. -Provided resources that are relevant to the information shared tailored to the audience to grow whatever goals they are seeking to accomplish by being an attendee. -When presenting complex information, after a quick intro, I will choose some key terms that the audience may have familiarity with but not in-depth knowledge a d share that with them, so they don't get stuck thinking about what it means. They can actually stay involved with the information.

Use digital tools for interactive polls, live Q&As, and networking. This engages your audience, gathers insights, and facilitates connections, making your presence more impactful.

Have genuine conversations, showing real interest in others' work. For promising connections, get work emails and follow up promptly with personalized notes. Send LinkedIn requests to maintain the network, but use email for meaningful follow-ups or collaborations, as it's typically faster and more professional.

One of the best lessons I've learned with interactive sessions is not to be stuck behind the podium. Have wireless microphones so you can walk through the audience to stop and have meaningful, engaging conversations. When someone raises a point you may have overlooked, forgotten to incorporate or whatever. Say their name and thank them, and let them know in whatever endearing way you can, you'll be sure to remember to incorporate that in the future. Make time for audience shares, this is a wonderful time to learn from brainstorming. As we know surveys are the best way to create better content.
