As a PM, ensuring your team’s vision aligns with stakeholder expectations involves clear communication, thorough understanding, and continuous collaboration. Begin by articulating the product vision and its value proposition, ensuring it addresses both customer needs and business objectives. Engage stakeholders early to gather their input and identify priorities, aligning these with the overall product goals. Use data-driven insights and competitive analysis to validate the vision, and maintain transparency through regular updates, progress reviews, and open dialogue. By balancing stakeholder interests with the product’s strategic direction, you can build trust and foster alignment throughout the development process.

A novel product is of no use if it is not meeting a 'need'. If the product meets a desperate need or solves a glaring problem or manages to elevate efficiency with simple changes... It would be easier to get the stakeholders aligned. We ned to make sure to ask the basic 4W1H questions before we present anything to the stakeholders. I answer this as a stakeholder myself and having heard a number of novel product ideas

I'd say that instead of just presenting your product vision, invite stakeholders to co-create it with your team. Also, show, don’t just tell. Use prototypes, mockups, or demos to communicate your ideas in tangible ways. Seeing a product in action makes it easier for stakeholders to understand and align with your vision.
