In my opinion, the best way to address this is to - speak to the team and the extended team, stakeholders as soon as it is identified - understand ways to recover or balance it - understand the impacts and communicate with relevant members - work with everyone as a recovery plan. - understand the acceptable delays and non acceptable delays. Communicate to get the best outcome

Do not panic. Take responsibility for the failure as a leader. Bring up the issue with the team as whole and socialize it for collective response.Be slow to isolate those with low target as they could be operating under special circumstances. Create moments to cerebrate progress towards the problem. The improvement plan should be shared with key stakeholders for feedback.

As a Program Manager I make sure Frequent updates to ensure that everyone stays aligned, while receiving feedback helps to keep the my project's on track. Even if things are behind schedule, it's better to communicate early and address issues before they snowball. I receive and give constructive feedback When timelines slip, focus on solutions rather than placing blame game which never solves a problems

Leaders should blame themselves for projects not meeting deadline!! 1. Develop effective review mechanism. 2. Develop escalation matrix initial stage to find solution if team is stuck. 3. Agree with cross functional team realistic timelines. 4. Address project risks and contingency plans. 5. Congratulate team for short term success ensure team motivated for futher tasks. 6. Develop cross learning among teams and inform the lesson learnt in other projects to avoid failures. Not all projects meet deadline but the systems devloped and leadership skills ensures more successful projects!!
