Los cambios ESTRUCTURALES EN PROYECTOS pueden resultar tanto de estrategias del Cliente como del contratista principal de Ejecución. En ambos casos, se debe expresar claramente EL CAMBIO DE ALCANCE PROPUESTO Y SE DEBE ESTIMAR el Impacto en costos y tiempo de ejecución. Se deben determinar cifras de mérito de la situación planteada y demostrar que cumple los objetivos del proyecto. En caso de que la solicitud de cambio supere en costo y tiempo el proyecto original, se debe someter la aprobación a los niveles requeridos emitiéndose los presupuesto y el nuevo plan de ejecución. Todo planteamiento de parte y parte debe ser escuchado y si los planteamiento contribuyen a reducir costos y tiempos de ejecución deben abordarse inmediatamente.

A lot depends on the size and scope of the project. If you uncovered the structural integrity issue and it’s preexisting or the structural issue is a result of the project. Regardless an Engineer is critical for fixing a structural issue and is Licensed and certified to come up with a solution.

In my experience, firstly we need check the project status overall, then find the root cause by using some tool as: fishbone diagram, iwasaki models....in project to find out real reason. Base on that result, we can consider choose some options below: 1. Evaluating the current status then make decision to reduce the cost if any, find another solution within approval budget. 2. Escalating to your project sponsors or direct PMO/CEO/ high class stakeholder PIC this project. Propose your solution then ask for their opinion. 3. Compromise or withdraw with your clients by some usefull report relevate budget and cost if make and change request, base on each phases of project this components maybe differents

Un placer haber sido invitado a este debate! En mi experiencia profesional ha habido 3 motivos para un cambio estructural y los desgoloso: 1.- Económico: cuando la constructora considera que cambiando la tipología de la estructura supone un ahorro económico tanto para la propiedad como para la empresa 2.- Por error de proyecto, ya que la estructura según las condiciones estructurales de mi país marcan muy claramente que serán responsabilidad del contratista verificar la viabilidad de la estructura proyectada…. (Si, así es) 3.- Por petición de DF, no explícitamente en la mayoría de los casos, pero si inderactamente por cambios arquitectónicos. Sigo desarrollando….

Well it’s quite hard one but here is my take on it Zero compromise from my end it’s all over to PE or architects period they are the one to make designs changes
