As a coach, I help my overwhelmed client by creating a safe space to express his or her concerns and clarify their vision. I break the client’s goals into manageable steps, prioritizing tasks to reduce the sense of chaos. Together, we address key challenges, emphasizing strengths and leveraging tools or support systems for areas where help is needed. As a coach specializing in stress management and mental preparation, I teach stress and time management techniques while fostering a growth mindset and reframing challenges as opportunities. First understand their passion & long-term vision for the venture, and their business goals & the "why" behind their venture. Divide the venture into manageable stages, such as market research, business planning, funding, execution & establish Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound objectives for each phase. Help them create a business plan that outlines, their value proposition, target market, competition, revenue streams, and financial projections. Connect them with mentors, advisors, or networks that can provide additional expertise/support. Encourage delegation of tasks that are outside their expertise, freeing them to focus on strategic priorities. Be prepared for Mindset Coaching, address their fears of failure.

Starting a new business can be crazy overwhelming. But first, ditch the "perfect plan" mindset. You'll never have all the answers. Focus on progress, not perfection. Find Your "Why Not" What's holding you back? Is it: 1. Unclear goals? 2. Fear of failure? 3. Lack of expertise? Write down your top 3 "why nots." Then, next to each, write "So what?" (Yeah, it sounds silly, but trust me). Ask yourself: 1. What problem do I solve? 2. How do I differ? 3. For whom? Keep it simple. This isn't a business plan; it's a starting point. Find one habit that move the needle? 1. Daily writing? 2. Weekly networking? Focus on that one habit. Make it automatic. You're not alone. Every entrepreneur starts clueless. You'll learn, adapt & grow.

I remind them that progress is about consistency, not perfection and to focus on small goals that are are achievable. By celebrating the small wins, it helps them build confidence and momentum.

I have a 4-step framework that I guide my clients with who start a new business. This approach helps clients navigate their journey effectively. 1. Define: we refine the idea, assess risks, and clarify the measures of success. 2. Discover: we explore the customer’s journey and client personas and collect feedback from the market. 3. Design: we create a value proposition, storyboard solutions, and connect with potential customers. 4. Develop: we build an MVP, prioritize with sprints, and establish branding while addressing unseen forces like legislation. Especially at the very beginning, things can be very overwhelming. I am also encouraging my clients always to have a support system with mentors, coaches, friends, and family close to them.

When I work with a client who is just getting started I break everything down into small step-by-step goals. I ask the client to give me a list of everything they can think of that they want to accomplish then together we break it down into goals they feel they are confident in accomplishing. This gives both of us a roadmap of how to get started and make progress. I then can use coaching to help the client move through the progress.

We need to assess whether they have carefully weighed the pros and cons, and verify that their motivation stems from genuine passion and drive, rather than external pressures. If the client shows strong positive intent, we must then identify why they feel overwhelmed. Is it due to a lack of self-confidence or perhaps a fear of failure? By pinpointing these underlying concerns, we can develop targeted strategies to address them and work toward the best possible outcome for the client's success.
