If money is not an issue then going for newer aircraft will further help in reducing the recurring maintenance cost that actually becomes a big liability incase of older aircraft. Keeping one type of aircraft also saves big bucks in terms of recurring SIM trainings and spares procurement. Similar aircraft type (within the Airbus or Boeing family) is also convenient in terms of cannibalisation of spares since components are similar on these aircraft despite different model numbers. Similar cost is saved for training of maintenance engineers and technicians. If you have a mixed fleet then cost would surely go high; which is not viable for a LCC.
