One of the main advantages of SaaS is that it eliminates the need to buy, install, and maintain expensive hardware and software licenses. You pay only for what you use, usually on a monthly or annual subscription basis, and you can scale up or down as your needs change. This reduces your capital expenditure and frees up your budget for other priorities. You also save on the costs of hiring and training IT staff, as the SaaS provider handles the technical aspects of the software.

Ok, time to politely disagree here. Unless we're talking about super simple platforms, don't for one minute think that you can simply connect and get going. Installation may not be a requirement, but configuration and setup will be required, and the bigger your business the more complex that exercise will be. If you want to reap the maximum reward, you'll need to get your team up to speed.

"Speed" Is the crux of any buisness, the faster you move the faster you experience success or failures and gain lessons for your buisness.
The success of any technology or software in system purely depends upon the use and adaptability, the implementation.
Organisation may take days or months to completely implement a software and check the impact of its use in thier buisness.
Faster deployment gives sufficient time for implementation and thus ensures success of the software and investment.

Hmm...yeah...kinda...maybe...depending on the platform!
The harsh reality here is that while the above sounds ideal and somewhat Utopian, reality has a different opinion. Internet connections fail from time to time and when they do, you're all dead in the water. Customization options also vary greatly between vendors. Not all platforms have usable versions on mobile devices with small screens. When you own a backup you can rollback in the event of a disaster. Not all vendors will be able to do that.

Yes, but only if you invest the time and effort to do so.
Most companies treat SaaS deployments as projects, replicating existing working methods onto the new platform and stopping work. Yet good SaaS are continuously evolving with new features. To drive change and innovation, you should assign an owner for the capability responsible for maximising the value extraction from the solution by engaging across the business to deploy features.
However, the more integrated a SaaS solution is into your business, the harder it will be to swap to an alternative platform to pursue cost savings.

Build & Maintain Vs Rent & Monitor. 😇
This is the fundamental way to look at any SaaS purchase. With the availability of SaaS for everything, businesses have to consider the cost of building & maintaining a service against renting & monitoring it.
Building a system in-house might be required in certain situations (regulatory / data), but more than 95% of the time, renting is easy!
Build option comes with assembling in-house teams, deploying the service, and maintaining & enhancing it as per business needs & a lot of peripehral activities. And these time, money, and resource investments are necessary the end of the life of the service.
Vs
Renting (A SaaS service) might be as simple as signing up with an email in some cases. :)

I think the best value propositions of the SaaS are accessibility and scalability. Prices can not be lower without these items. You are also able to see fully transparent user reviews, community activities, etc. If you have freemium or free trial options or hybrid versions, that is awesome. People do not buy without testing any product or service. At least this intent is very high, kind of a sector standard.

When talking about SaaS, the article should also mention what is meant my the term Software as a Service.
Sometimes the term is used to describe a solution hosted by a cloud vendor with a subscription pricing model.
In this case the user pays the subscription for the application plus storage and compute services from a technical cloud provider.
While the original meaning for SaaS refers to a purpose built full stack solution, where the SaaS vendor provides the storage, compute services as part of the SaaS subscription.
