Employees remember the boss who took the time to see them and made them feel special. Also, it allows the employees to show each other that they see positive things in the workplace from one another. One of the most positive teams I ever created was the one that received this award, which was given out monthly at the department staff meeting. People gave it to each other for random things, such as making me lunch on a tough day or listening to when someone died. I rarely knew who was going to win. I had one rule: the person who won it the previous month could not give it to them again. I could not win more often than once a quarter. The rule was needed in the beginning, but after a while, I usually only won it once a year.
