I believe in the 3 step communication method which leaves no scope for this : 1) Clear written step wise directives: Clearly document the instructions ensuring they are broken down into small do-able steps. 2) Reinstating the instructions over a Video meeting: going over each step with clarity, laying emphasis on the key points. Talking face to face helps gauge their uneasiness, or any visible signs of confusion. Gently, correct and clarify as you go along. 3) Consistent check ins. Keeping a regular track of progress,wins,delays, and roadblocks will make the team feel supported. Frequent team brainstorming sessions will result in progressive solutions.
