Technical production can be a source of waste. Stage sets that use 'single use' vinyl wraps are a prime culprit. We encourage our clients not to use printed graphics that are date specific. That way graphics can be used on several events if they are looked after. Another option is to use additional screens or projectors to provide branding instead of printed material. Stage carpet is often fitted bespoke. We try to steer clients to use standard stage sizes to allow the carpet to be used at another event. Party and table decorations can be very wasteful. For instance, we only work with companies that use biodegradable balloons, and avoid or limit the use of helium filled balloons and use recyclable helium canisters.

Oh that's pretty easy, you would have lots and lots of recycling systems in place. You would first and foremost market and advertise the fact that recycling is very important to you and all those who attend the event. Perhaps even introduce a reward system for returning cups etc. You would ensure there are lots and lots of clearly labelled recycling bin areas for people to use. So signage is key, and the ways it's labelled and ease of use. You could shout about how proud you are to be reaching this goal.

Your event staff has to be apart of the recycling initiative. Signage that fits with the event theme and draws eye attention is needed. Being smart about the amount of giveaway items their are against the expected crowd helps alleviate dead product being left behind or trashed.
