On the my last job one of my responsibilities was to maintain IP-camera's network, which containes more than 50 ip-cameras. They are providing of watching for the middle enterprise. The NVR is on-premises area and it is connected to the local network and camera's network by two NIC's. It has two HDD storages within in RAID-0 mode and it can get a stream from 64 cameras. As I see this solution is more relevant for middle enterprise that has not trend for extention and concerns about security of a video data and does not want to pay more for using cloud storage or hybrid cloud storage.
