Not only is it off putting to those around you, it’s unsustainable. While it’s important to stay well-informed on what’s happening and what it means for you and the people you lead, technology is changing at a pace even specialists struggle to keep up with. As a result, you have to balance confidence with a humble curiosity that keeps you leaning on those around you. You should be building out your network with a diverse group of people that have much deeper expertise than you do. If you’re going too deep in the tech, your focus isn’t in the right place.

Not too long ago, one of my college friends was surprised that I shared a certificate of completion on LinkedIn related to a course which I did. According to him, the course itself is something that he believed I already had knowledge and it was not necessary to do it. As a learner, I replied him by saying the course introduced lot of additional things which I was not familiar about and I suggested him to try out. Interestingly, he did complete the course and learned some additional things. The moral of the story is how much one has knowledge related to a subject or field, it really does not matter as everything keeps changing with time. If we are not being able to improve ourselves then we will not be able to adapt to the change.
