How do you become an unit supply specialist?

2 What qualifications do you need?

To become an unit supply specialist, you need to meet the general requirements for enlisting in the army, such as being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, being between 17 and 34 years old, having a high school diploma or equivalent, and passing a physical and mental exam. You also need to have a score of at least 90 on the clerical (CL) segment of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test, which measures your verbal, numerical, and spatial abilities.

3 What training do you need?

After completing the 10-week basic combat training, you will attend the 8-week advanced individual training (AIT) at Fort Lee, Virginia. During this time, you will gain the skills and knowledge to act as an unit supply specialist, including supply principles and procedures, warehouse operations and management, automated supply systems and software, inventory and quality control, property accountability and security, maintenance and repair of weapons and equipment, as well as packing and shipping techniques. You will also participate in hands-on exercises and simulations to practice your skills in realistic scenarios.
